A unique hand thrown ceramic jug with a wonderful bi-colour glaze. Historically used for wine, the pitcher dates back to the late 1800s and originates from Grottaglie, a town in southern Puglia known for its age old ceramic craft. The charming ceramic jug has the pinched spout and elegant sculptural form that is typical of traditional Pugliese pitchers. What sets this jug apart is the unique colour combination of pastel green on one side, with a buttermilk hue on the other. The small jug has a charming character with that magical patina that can only be brought about authentically from years of daily use. This antique piece of pottery would be ideal to add a pop of colour to a kitchen or table setting, or as a small vase for fresh flowers. Create impact when pared with the matching ceramics as seen in the images.
