Antique Blue Floral Bowl
An elegantly hand-thrown terracotta bowl with an intricately hand painted all-over floral motif. The design is ‘freely’ painted in a rich indigo blue that is set against the ivory base, and is testament to the superior brushwork of the artisan. Often these independent artists were independent of the kiln, and enlisted to add their magic to plates and jugs in particular. This charming bowl has a refined quality and would make a lovely addition to the kitchen or dining space, simply as a decorative display piece or a centrepiece on a table for fruit.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H9cm x W26cm x D26cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
