Antique Green Rimmed 'Minzana' Vase
This large antique vessel from Puglia called ‘minzana’ was used to transport water, and to water vegetables, vineyards and gardens. Usually the outer main body was left unglazed, whilst glazed internally to keep the water fresh - which would also minimise the cost of producing these utility vessels. The handmade piece has a lot of character due to its rustic patina, the 2 handles highlighting its hand crafted quality, and the pistachio green glaze around the rim set against the raw, earthy base. This historical example would make the perfect vase or decorative centre piece in any home, especially when pared with the other farmhouse vessels as seen in the images.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H42.5cm x W31cm x D25cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
