Antique Green Speckled Pot with Handles
A deep ochre brown glazed pot with two side handles and unique green speckled effect making it a one of a kind piece. Dating back to the early 1900s, this hand thrown vessel would have been originally used for storing food for the family. The ceramic pot has a wonderfully rounded form, with its external ochre glaze giving way to the raw clay at the bottom. The dark glaze is offset by the speckled pistachio green spots on all sides, creating an almost ‘modern’, abstract effect. Today, this antique piece would make a wonderful decorative display piece or storage vessel, injecting some country charm to any home or space. Create an impactful display when pared with the matching pots as seen in the images.
Found in Ostuni
the enchanting hill top town of the valle d’Itria known as la città bianca (or ‘white city’).
