Antique Hand Painted Terracotta Jug
A charming hand thrown terracotta jug originally used for wine or water. Its unique hand painted design and rotund shape, is characteristic of Sicily. This antique piece dating back to the early 1900s is hand painted using the unique technique of dabbing old potato skins to create the abstract repeat pattern around the jug. There are bands of blue and brown lines that encircle the vessel, all set against the earthy base.
