A very unique hand crafted colander bowl dating back to the late 1800s and originating from the town of Martina Franca in Puglia. It features hand painted ‘ML’ initials at the center of the ceramic bowl which most likely represent the family it belonged to. The antique colander also features hand painted pastel blue and ochre brown lines that border the edge, set against a soft buttermilk base. Despite its elegant design and form, this characterful colander would have been used in the kitchen for every day, domestic life.
