An antique confit pot in an iridescent ivory glaze, with two handles and an elegant form. This pot was made in the early 1900s and was originally used for preserving foods such as anchovies, sardines, figs or olives in olive oil. This type of ivory ceramic is commonly called ‘robba bianca’ in southern Italy, and represents the finest kind of ‘ceramica rustica’, produced with a pewter glaze and is twice fired. Today it would be ideal as a vase for fresh flowers or as a decorative display piece.
