Antique Rustic Green Jug
Originating from Puglia, this hand-thrown antique jug is called a ‘srulu pi l’uegghju’ in local dialect and dates back to the first half of the 20th century. It was originally used to hold olive oil with the thick terracotta keeping the contents cool and fresh. The antique jug has a well-loved patina that renders it all the more enchanting, brought about from daily use over the years. This Pugliese vessel stands apart due to the pistachio green glaze, its elegant form, spout and handle as well as a wonderfully rotund body. Today, the perfectly rustic jug is the ideal piece to add some country charm to any home or space, especially when pared with the other ceramics seen in the images.
