Antique Rustic Pink Jug
A unique jug from Puglia with its rustic quality, called a ‘vacaturu’ in local dialect. This antique piece was originally used as a ladle of sorts to empty or transfer water or other liquids from one vessel to another. What makes this jug a stand out piece, is the pastel pink colouring that has eroded over time exposing the raw clay underneath. The jug has a lot of character with its surface oxidisation creating a very distinctive patina with a soft pink hue. Today, the hand thrown jug would make the perfect decorative centre piece or as a vase for fresh flowers, adding some farmhouse charm to any home or space.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H20cm x W20cm x D16cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
