Set of x3 Antique Blue Rim Plates
A charming hand painted set of x3 plates that are typical of Pugliese ceramics, with a minimalism that makes them easy to coordinate with any space or setting. Dating back to the early 1900s the antique plates would have been primarily used by a family at mealtimes. The medium size plates feature hand painted ink blue lines in varying widths encircling the rims of the plates, set against a buttermilk glaze. The old farmhouse pottery from Puglia, like these antique plates, is thick and robust, and has a lovely handmade, rustic feel. The characterful plates have that magic patina that can only be brought about authentically through years of daily use. This set of plates would make a lovely addition to the kitchen adding some country charm, especially when pared with the matching plates and bowls, as seen in the images.
Found in Martina Franca
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: All 3 / H3.5cm x W22cm x D22cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
