Antique Farmhouse Bowl
A charming hand painted bowl that is typical of Pugliese ceramics, with a minimalism that makes it easy to coordinate with any space or setting. Dating back to the late 1800s, this bowl was found as part of an old Masseria’s estate (a fortified farmhouse on agricultural land, typically built in 16th century Puglia). It features a hand painted pastel blue line encircling the rim of the plate, set against an ivory glaze. The old farmhouse pottery from Puglia, like this bowl, is thick and robust, and has a lovely handmade, rustic feel. The antique bowl would have been primarily used at mealtimes for the farmers who worked the land of the Masseria. This bowl would make a lovely addition to any kitchen, adding some country charm, especially when paired with the matching plates, as seen in the images.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H7cm x W24cm x D24cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
