An antique hand-thrown terracotta vase with two unique handles and hand painted initials that is refined in its simplicity. Originating from the town of Martina Franca in Puglia, the elegant vasetto dates back to the mid 1800s, and would have taken pride of place in a noble palazzo, where the family’s initials can be seen on one side, hand painted in an inky blue. This one of a kind piece is rendered all the more special due to its undulating handles and elegant form highlighting the skill of the artisan/potter. It has a soft buttermilk glaze and that magical patina that only the passing of time and daily use can authentically bring about. Today this truly unique piece would be ideal as a vase for fresh flowers or as a decorative display piece that would work effortlessly in any home or space.

Found in Martina Franca

a hilltop town in the Valle d’Itria known for its baroque architecture.

Dimensions: H21cm x W19cm x D15cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
