Antique Ivory Bowl by S.C. Lombarda
An antique ceramic bowl in a soft milky glaze with an elegant form and handles made by S.C (Società Ceramica) Lombarda. Founded in Milan in the late 1800s, ‘S.C.L.’ was known for its tableware with a stylised Liberty aesthetic (as Italy’s Art Nouveau was known). The centrepiece has an elevated pedestal, perfect spherical body, and stylised handles with leaf pattern relief which is reminiscent of antiquity. Dating back to the early 1900s and originally used for serving food such as soup. Today it would be ideal as a fruit bowl, or as a decorative display piece, adding style to any kitchen or table setting. It has the makers mark at the bottom as seen in the photos.
Found in Lecce
the Baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H16cm x W27.5cm x D22.5cm
Available and on display at Casa Rosa Lecce
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
