Antique Marbled Pot With Lid
An antique and rare ceramic pot with original lid and a very unique marbling effect. This terracotta pot from the southern Italian region of Calabria, would have been originally used to store food stuffs like the family’s mother yeast. The one of a kind piece features two refined round handles and stamped circular banding around the bottom and top. This handmade piece has an abstract colour combination in beautiful ochre, cobalt blue and green that is set against a buttermilk glaze. Today, the antique pot would be ideal as a vessel for storage or simply as a decorative display piece.
