Antique Orange Glaze Bowl with Handles
A charming hand-thrown antique bowl originating from Grottaglie, a town in southern Puglia renowned for its age old ceramic craft and tradition. Dating back to the late 1800s, the small bowl would have been used daily, at family mealtimes. The rustic piece of pottery features two small handles and is glazed internally in orange, and left raw externally. It has a magic patina brought about authentically from daily use and the passing of time. The old stoneware of Puglia is thick and robust like this vessel, and has a lovely handmade, rustic feel. Today it would be ideal to add some country charm to a farmhouse kitchen or table setting. Create impact with the matching ceramic tableware as seen in the images.
Found in Lecce
