Antique Rustic Calabrese Water Pot
An antique rustic pot originating from the southern Italian region of Calabria. Dating back to the early-1800s, the farmhouse pot was originally used for collecting water. What makes this vessel one of a kind, is its handmade rounded form reminiscent of primitive pottery. The unique pot features two small handles with a metal wire handle. The outer surface is raw with a natural, earthy texture and an ochre glaze around the lip as well as internally to keep contents cool and fresh. The vessel features that magical patina brought about authentically by daily use and the passing of time. The charming pot is a unique historic example of domestic Calabrese pottery, and would make a perfect centre piece in any home, indoors or out. Add some country charm with the matching pot as seen in the images.
