This antique planter is a characteristic example of plant pots from Grottaglie, a town in southern Puglia known for its age old ceramic craft. The plant pot features an iridescent pistachio green glaze, sgraffito banding and scalloped detailing around the upper edge. Though dating back to the early 1900s, these details give the pot its modern aesthetic. The large handmade planter is unglazed internally and has a hole at the bottom for drainage. The green glazed pot is a great size and would be ideal to add a splash of colour to any home or space, both indoors or outdoors. This charming pot would coordinate well with the other matching planters as featured in the images.
