Large Antique Rustic Bowl with Scalloped Edge
This large antique bowl hails from the southern Italian region of Calabria and dates back to the mid 1800s The charming piece features a scalloped edge and hand painted spot designs in ink blue set against a rich buttermilk-hue base. It would have been primarily used for domestic use and more specifically to serve a family during meals. Despite the abstract patterns that decorated this and other antique crockery from the region, the bowls were domestic items, used for everyday life.
