Large Vintage Hand Painted Floral Jug
A vibrant jug historically used for wine and originating from Abruzzo, Italy. This vintage jug dating back to the early 1900s is unique not only because of its large size but also its beautifully rendered floral motif, testament to the superior brushwork of the artist/potter. The vintage pitcher is hand painted in hues of sky blue, plum, mustard and green, with accents of ink blue, set against the glossy white glaze. The charming hand painted floral motif and colours used are a common characteristic of jugs, plates and bowls of this southern Italian region. The large hand thrown ceramic jug with its pinched spout and classic Mediterranean form, would make a lovely addition to the kitchen and would create an impactful table setting when pared with the matching jugs and plate as seen in the photos.
