Vintage Vineyard Watering Can
A vintage galvanised metal watering can that was used for spraying the vines in a Pugliese vineyard, dating back to the mid 1900s. The unique blue-hued patina is due to the reaction of the sulphur used in the spray, and adds to its perfectly-aged charm. Made by hand, this vessel has an amphora-like form, and has a dignity and elegance that belies its very utilitarian purpose. Its characterful patina has evolved through daily use, exposure to the elements and the passing of time. This rustic, farmhouse-style piece of Pugliese gardenalia would be an ideal vase for fresh or dried flowers. There is also a matching vessel, as seen in the photos, perfect to create an impactful display and inject colour into your home or space.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H41cm x W32cm x D25cm
These are handmade antiques that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
