Antique Rustic Yellow Rim Plate
A very charming rustic plate with its faded hand painted rim, dating back to the late 1800s. The well loved piece shows its characteristic signs of age with a wonderful patina, and hand painted yellow border around the rim, faded over time, adding to its distinct charm. This rustic, farmhouse plate would have been used to feed a family at meal times, where the action of the metal spoon making contact with the clay (from daily use over for years) is evident on the inner ring of the plate. Typical of Pugliese ceramics, this plate is thick and robust, and has a lovely handmade quality. This antique piece would make a lovely addition to the kitchen, as decorative display or a great centrepiece on a table for fruit.
