Antique Rustic Amphora
Antique ochre amphora made in the mid to late 1800s in Puglia and found in a noble family palazzo in Grottaglie. With a distinctive top glaze in mustard, rustic proportions of the handles, and earthy ochre colour base, this traditional piece has a lot of character due to is asymmetrical details (ie the glaze, and one handle has been replaced during its course, to continue its lifespan). This ceramic amphora has seen over 150 years of service to its noble family - to hold wine, water or oil, and naturally shows some charming signs of age. This historical example would make the perfect decorative centre piece in any home.
Found in Grottaglie
the small town in Puglia famous for its ceramic craft.
Dimensions: H49cm x W26cm x D26cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
