Rustic Confit Pot
Antique handmade ceramic confit pot with elegant handles and engraved band decoration, with creme slip glaze that has aged beautifully with mustard spots from the firing process. Originally used for preserving foods such as anchovies, sardines or olives in olive oil and likely dating back to the early 1900s, it would be ideal for plants (it has a hole drilled in the bottom ready for drainage), kitchen utensils, or or as a decorative display piece.
Found in Grottaglie
the small town in Puglia famous for its ceramic craft.
Dimensions: H19cm x W25cm x D18cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
