Antique Twisted Handle Amphora
An antique hand-thrown amphora typical of the Puglia region, traditionally used to keep wine fresh for the farmers working the land. The raw clay is contrasted by the sunflower yellow glaze on top - this was added for hygiene purposes, so it could be wiped clean after use, rather than simply decorative. The vessel features a beautifully hand crafted spherical body and its twisted handles are a fluid extension of the spout, created for easy grip. This historical piece has a raw surface texture that highlights its years of daily use. Today, the antique amphora can be used as a bud vase or simply decorative adding some farmhouse charm to any space.
