Small Antique Turquoise Glaze Pot
An antique confit pot with an elegant spherical body, two ridged handles and wonderful turquoise blue glaze. This rustic pot originates from the southern Italian region of Basilicata and was originally used for preserving foods such as anchovies, sardines, figs or olives in olive oil. This type of rural ceramic pottery was typically only partially glazed (at the rim for hygiene purposes) as it was expensive to glaze the entire pot. Lend some rustic farmhouse character to your home or space with the other matching pieces as seen in the images. This antique pot would be ideal as a vase for fresh flowers or as a decorative display piece especially as a set with the other larger pots.
Found in Martina Franca
the charming hilltop town of the Valle d’Itria known for its baroque architecture.
Dimensions: H23cm x W20cm x D20cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
