A charmingly rustic, hand painted wine flask historically used by famers on the field, in a characteristic design of Puglia. Dating back over 80 years, this unique hand thrown ceramic piece has been painted with initials M.G. and dated 1940, in a delightful olive green and lovely spherical shape. This is set against a half cream glaze on its ochre base, and olive green edging on the spout’s rim. The wonderful patina is consistent with age and use and shows signs of wear, which gives the piece its immense character. It would work beautifully as a decorative display piece in any home or simply as a bud vase.

Found in Lecce

the capital of the Salento famous for its baroque architecture.

Dimensions: H32cm x W20cm x D20cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
