Vintage Dark Green Sgraffito Plate
This hand made terracotta plate with its distinctive sgraffito adornment representing the sun comes in an enchanting deep green glaze. The vintage piece is likely of Calabrese origin - a region in southern Italy. It comes with built-in holes at the back for wall mount, to perfectly display the unique plate. The old terracotta pottery from southern regions of Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria, like this plate, have a lovely handmade, rustic feel and were used primarily for everyday, domestic use - however this plate with its back holes for mounting (as seen in images) was made to be on display and appreciated.
