Vintage Drip Glaze Jug
A vintage jug with a unique hand decorated drip glaze pattern reminiscent of psychedelic ‘60s design. This hand thrown terracotta jug is typical of Eastern European ceramics from the Austro-Hungarian legacy and commonly associated with the Corund mark- traditional ceramics from the Transylvania region of Romania/Hungary, and found throughout the Mediterranean. The mid-century piece with its pinched spout features a mesmerising swirl design in hues of deep brown, green, cream and orange accents. It is glazed internally in a creamy white hue. The vintage jug would make a wonderful addition to any table setting especially when paired with the matching stackable ceramic bowls as seen in the images.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H16cm x W17cm x D14cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
