This vintage oval plate with its distinctive scalloped edge comes in a vibrant turquoise green glaze. Created by C.A.S. (Ceramiche Artistica Solimene, as seen on the marking on the underside) from Vietri Italy, a small town on the Amalfi coast known for its age old ceramic tradition. This hand crafted plate in particular was made in the Gambone era (1940s). The ceramics created under Guido Gambone’s direction for C.A.S. were characterised by farming and herding scenes such as the woman depicted on this plate. This handmade piece with its charming decoration would make a lovely addition to the kitchen, as decorative display or a great centrepiece on a table for fruit.
