Vintage Hand Painted Woman with Flute Plate by C.A.S. Vietri
This vintage hand painted plate is created by C.A.S. - Ceramiche Artistica Solimene from Vietri Italy, a small town on the Amalfi coast known for its age old ceramic tradition. This unique, hand crafted plate was most likely made in the Gambone era (1940s). Ceramics created under Guido Gambone’s direction for C.A.S. were characterised by farming and herding scenes and inspired by local life and tradition, with a folkloric and naïve flavour. This one in particular features a woman with flute sitting by a tree, with a black background. The plate is limited edition numbered (400) and signed at the back with the brand name. The vintage plate can be hung or displayed as it comes with two holes at the back for mounting. This rare piece with its charming decoration would make a lovely addition to the kitchen, as a decorative display, especially when pared with the matching Vietri ceramic plates as seen in the images.
