Vintage Spotted Amphora
A vintage hand-thrown amphora with a whimsical pattern that renders it a truly unique piece. The jovial amphora with its spontaneous spot motif in varying shades of ochre brown and splashes of ink blue set against an ivory base, dates back to the mid 1900s. Originally used for wine or water to keep it fresh for farmers working the land on those long, hot summer days, this original piece has a lovely form that’s a pleasure to hold. Today, it can be used as a bud vase or as a decorative display piece.
Found in Ostuni
the charming, white-washed, hill-top town in Puglia known as ‘città bianca’ (or white city)
Dimensions: H28cm x W16cm x D16cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
