Vintage XL Floral Motif Bowl
A statement-making, extra large ceramic bowl with its huge floral motif - a common characteristic of plates and bowls of the southern-most regions of Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria. This vintage bowl dating back to the mid 1900s, with its beautifully hand painted floral motif at centre stage and decorative sponge designs around the sides, is testament to the superior brushwork of the artist/potter. The charming piece is characteristic of the robust domestic pottery of the region and would make a lovely addition to the kitchen, as decorative display or a great centrepiece on a table for fruit. Complete the set with the x2 smaller bowls with a similar design, as seen in the images.
Found in Brindisi
the important old Roman port and its gateway to the East.
Dimensions: H9cm x W43cm x D43cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
