XL Antique Ceremonial Wine Bottle
A spectacular ceramic wine bottle dating back to the 1800s, with particular importance. The extra large vessel was used for only the best wine produced from the family vineyard. It was thus utilised for the most important of ceremonies, such as the birth of a child or christenings. This statement piece is imposing due to its extra-large size, as well as the beautiful colouring and patina brought about from years of use. Its magical patina ranges from a soft ivory colour to the gentlest of pastel green and tinges of mustard orange - with cloudy grey, where the wine has seeped through and discoloured the vessel over the years. This antique wine bottle features a ‘handle’ towards the bottom, for ease when pouring the liquid. Today the large historic example would be ideal as a decorative display piece to inject some farmhouse charm to any home or outdoor space.
Found in Nardò
the charming Salento town known for its notable examples of baroque architecture.
Dimensions: H59cm x W30cm x D30cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
